Pediatric Dentist Dr. Amy Davidian

Pediatric Dentists

Amy C. Davidian, D.D.S., P.A.

I’m so excited to welcome you and your child to Southpoint Pediatric Dentistry! As a mother myself, I understand how difficult it is to trust someone else with your child. I can honestly say that I treat my patients as if they are my own children and I truly love my career as a pediatric dentist. From an early age I knew I wanted to work with children and pediatric dentistry became a perfect fit for me. I attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, graduating with a BA degree in Biology with Honors. I then continued my education at the UNC School of Dentistry, receiving my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, I completed my pediatric dental residency at The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. This 2-year residency program enabled me to gain valuable experience and knowledge in oral/conscious sedation, pediatric dental trauma, and special needs dentistry within a unique hospital environment.

I returned to North Carolina after residency and practiced in a pediatric dental office in Winston-Salem for over 6 years. Both my husband and I are natives of the Durham/Chapel Hill area and wanted to move “back home” so I decided to establish a practice in Durham. I feel fortunate to live in such a great community. The people, the schools and the culture make this area a great place to live, work and raise a family. My husband, Dr. Edward “Dave” Davidian, is a board certified dentist anesthesiologist also practicing locally. We team together to provide comprehensive sedation treatment options for those patients in our office who require that service. We have a daughter, Ava, who we love spending time with and when away from the office we enjoy ACC athletics, traveling, theatre, running and biking.

I look forward to getting to know you and your child. The relationships our office develops with our patients and their families are, to us, priceless. Our team truly cares and we commit to making a difference in the life of your child by making their dental visit special, fun and non-threatening. Don’t be surprised if they don’t want to leave!

Martha Holland, D.M.D., M.S.D.

It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Davidian and her team! At an early age, I chose to pursue a career in dentistry, and after spending many hours shadowing local pediatric dentists, working as a dental assistant in a pediatric dental practice, and participating in several dental mission trips, pediatric dentistry became my passion. It is my utmost desire to provide quality dental care for your child in an environment that is fun and welcoming, while not only treating their dental needs but also playing a role in their emotional development and well-being.

I attended the University of Mississippi, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in Biology with Honors. I then continued my education at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, receiving a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Following dental school, I completed a pediatric dental residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where I also received a Masters of Science in Dentistry degree. While at VCU, I was chosen to serve as Chief Resident. By completing a 2-year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry, I acquired the knowledge needed to safely provide oral conscious sedation to my patients, to comfortably work in an operating room setting, and to adequately treat pediatric patients and patients with special healthcare needs.

I was born and raised in Mississippi, where I met my husband Eric who is currently completing a fellowship in Cardiology at the University of North Carolina. Eric and I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, cooking new recipes, and watching SEC football. We are blessed to call the Durham/Chapel Hill area our new home, and we are very excited to become an integral part of this wonderful community.

I sincerely look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and your family!

Anesthesiologist Dr. Edward W. Davidian Jr.

Dentist Anesthesiologist

Edward W. Davidian Jr., D.D.S., M.S.

I have the great pleasure of working with my wife, Dr. Amy C. Davidian, to provide in-office general anesthesia services at Southpoint Pediatric Dentistry. As parents, my wife and I both understand the importance of finding a dental practice that offers a comfortable, fun environment that feels like home. Our team strives to provide an unforgettable experience in our pediatric dental office.

I received my B.S. in Business and B.A. in Chemistry from East Carolina University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Afterward, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I earned my D.D.S. degree with honors in May 2001. I completed one year of a general practice residency with the University of North Carolina hospital system from 2001-2002. During 2004-2007, I also worked with a general dentist in Raleigh who specialized in providing comprehensive care to high anxiety patients utilizing oral sedation. My passion for oral sedation motivated me to complete a residency in dental anesthesiology at The Ohio State University, where I received a Masters of Science and a certificate in dental anesthesiology. I went on to become a diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, which requires completion of a CODA accredited dental anesthesiology residency and successful completion of a written and oral board examination. The dental anesthesiology residency prepared me to manage pain and anxiety in a comprehensive manner while treating both adult and pediatric patients.

Along with providing a full spectrum of anesthesia services at Southpoint Pediatric Dentistry, I practice in the Raleigh/Durham NC area for a local oral surgery team. I am currently the only ADBA board certified dentist anesthesiologist in North Carolina. Outside the office, I enjoy running, cooking, scuba diving, and race car driving. All of us at Southpoint Pediatric Dentistry consider your family a part of ours and we sincerely look forward to getting to know each of you!
